July’s Post meeting was started off with a talk from Mellisa Pandolf, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2913 member and Suffolk County Veterans Service Officer. Mellisa talked about what benefits mean and what kinds of illnesses veterans may not know are service related.
Benefits are not a gift, and veterans who apply for benefits are not taking anything away from anyone else. Mellisa pointed out that many feel that they don’t deserve benefits, but that is just not true, if you served and you came out not as good as you went in than you need to apply for benefits. She also talked about some new illnesses being listed.
