Health Check: LIVER FLUKE
During the last Suffolk County Council for the VFW, Tom Ronayne (Veterans Service Agency Director) spent a few minutes giving our members an important bit of information about LIVER FLUKE. If you or anyone you know have served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, or have been stationed in Asia during your military service there is a chance that you may have come in contact with Liver Fluke.
These parasites may lay dormant for many years, and can cause problems to your liver and other parts of you body. If you have served in Asia during Korean War, Vietnam War or have been stationed in Asia during your service be sure to talk to your doctor about this. It can also be passed to family members, so if you have a family and especially if they were stationed with you in Asia be sure to talk to your doctor about their possible exposure as well.
