HONOR FLIGHT:
Honor Flight Network Long Island, is now recruiting Korean War Veterans for their flights. They are still taking WWII Veterans of course and will always make room for a WWII Veteran!!
They are looking for applications for the 2018 flights.
Any Post members that served in WWII or Korea can contact Jim Shine or the HONOR FLIGHT NETWORK at www.honorflightlongisland.org for a Veteran Application and Guardian Application.
For more information on the program you can contact Virginia Bennett at 631-702-2423.
Those interested in being a Guardian should also follow the link, Guardians are essential to the success of the Honor Flight Program. Without these volunteers we would not be able to carry out the dreams of so many WW II veterans, enabling them to see the memorials built in their honor.
Typically during our trips, we assign one guardian to one veteran. If a veteran is using a wheelchair for the day, which is usually the case, he or she will have an able-bodied guardian to assist throughout the day.
